MBA Suffolk University: an immersive seminar travel in Switzerland

From May 4 to 11, HEG-FR welcomed a delegation from the University of Suffolk. Led by their professors Jodi Detjen and Bari Bendell, the 20 students took part in an immersive and dynamic program in the Swiss cultural and economic landscape.

During their stay, the international students from the University of Suffolk enjoyed a diverse array of enriching experiences, meticulously organized by the HEG-FR International Office team. The week included company visits, case studies, consulting sessions, and cultural tours.

This immersion in the vibrant and dynamic Swiss culture enabled them to meet prominent figures from the Swiss business world, helping them forge valuable connections and expand their professional networks.

A dynamic and stimulating program

The delegation arrived in Zürich, where they started their weekend gently by exploring the historical old town and sampling sweet treats at the Lindt chocolate museum. The week began with a shift in pace, featuring visits to Leonteq and On Running, where the students engaged in a hands-on case study.

Late on Monday, the group traveled to Fribourg to explore the Blue Factory premises. Tuesday was dedicated to intensive group work and brainstorming sessions at Montblanc. On Wednesday, they tackled a complex HR challenge at Extramet, wrapping up a week of profound learning and cultural immersion.

The week concluded with a tour of the Gruyère region, where the students learned about traditional cheese-making in Le Moléson. They also spent a day engaging in discussions and teamwork activities with HEG-FR Master's students.

In conclusion, this week was brimming with exchanges and discoveries, both cultural and professional. These experiences will undoubtedly strengthen the ties between the Haute École de Gestion Fribourg and the Sawyer Business School- University of Suffolk.
