HEG-FR joined the Principles for Responsible Management Education initiative

23 Mar 2022

The School of Management Fribourg has become a signatory to the United Nations’ Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME), a global community of more than 800 business schools around the world.

PRME works with businesses and business schools to ensure that future leaders try to incorporate the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into their companies. The SDGs are a set of goals created by the United Nations which address the global challenges faced, from poverty to inequality and climate change

As a member of PRME, HEG-FR will make use of the Six Principles, a United Nations-supported framework for Higher Education Institutions and Business Schools that will help us to embed corporate sustainability even more into our educational programs, research and campus practices.

What is PRME?

The Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) is a United Nations-supported initiative founded in 2007 as a platform to raise the profile of sustainability in schools around the world, and to equip today's business students with the understanding and ability to deliver change tomorrow.

As a voluntary initiative with over 800 signatories worldwide, PRME has become the largest organised relationship between the United Nations and management-related higher education institutions.

Working through Six Principles, PRME engages business and management schools to ensure they provide future leaders with the skills needed to balance economic and sustainability goals, while drawing attention to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and aligning academic institutions with the work of the UN Global Compact.
