On Wednesday, the School of Management Fribourg officially opened Seed, a new space for entrepreneurial experimentation at the heart of the school. Seed is more than just a physical space – it represents a strong commitment to providing students with an environment where they can learn by testing ideas, making mistakes, starting over, and sometimes seeing their ideas succeed.
Seed is neither a traditional incubator, nor simply another coworking space, nor a box-ticking exercise. It is an open space where students are free to not have all the answers from the outset, but are encouraged to move forward nonetheless.
At the heart of the project lies a simple yet fundamental belief: we learn by creating and doing, and entrepreneurship is a way of learning differently. By embracing the journey rather than imposing predefined formats, Seed is open to a wide variety of projects: entrepreneurial projects, but also cultural, community, social, personal and collective initiatives. The aim is not to force ideas into a particular category, but to provide them with the environment they need to grow, evolve and take shape. Seed welcomes both high-achieving students and those who do not always fit neatly into the academic mould, but who know how to move forward, experiment, find solutions and learn through doing. Seed helps develop individuals who are more independent, confident and curious — and therefore also more engaged and more employable — through experiential Learning.

It is located at the heart of the School of Management Fribourg, and encourages students to explore, experiment and bring their ideas to life within an open, inclusive environment connected to its local community.
