29 Master and Bachelor students from Switzerland, France and Mexico came together on Monday to kick off the Summer School of 2021, offered by the School of Management Fribourg. With the improving epidemiological situation in Switzerland, we were able to welcome all 29 students at the School for the first program to take place in person after two semesters of virtual classes.

With a full and exciting program, the students will spend almost 2 weeks discovering the different approaches companies in Switzerland and around the world are taking towards sustainability, as well as how they are leading the way to achieve these goals. Furthermore, we hope to impart perspective and knowledge to the students, so they may also contribute to the global effort of finding sustainable solutions.
The Swiss, French, and Mexican students were welcomed by the Summer school's project manager Priscillea Stettler-Lengkong as well as Raphaël Gaudart, in charge of the MSc BA in entrepreneurship.
Following this introductory speech, Rico Baldegger, dean of the university, gave words of wisdom to stimulate and motivate these future innovators. They then teamed up for a teambuilding exercise before heading to the Mensa for lunch. In the afternoon, the students received their first course.
Finally, it was planned to have a joyful drink at a local bar to boost camaraderie and team spirit but unfortunately, the weather decided otherwise and it had to be postponed.

Although the day ended with one of the heaviest storms this year, the spirits of the students were not dampened. We wish them an exceptional experience in the next 2 weeks!
