The Geneve Fribourg Entrepreneurship Forum was held last week in between Geneva and Fribourg. It brought together participants from all around the globe to discuss and exchange about good practices and visions for contributing to a better world through MSMEs.
From 26 to 29 June, the Geneve Fribourg Entrepreneurship took place between the UN and the School of Management Fribourg. "A forum to bring together theory and practice, to build bridges between researchers, entrepreneurs, managers and even international organisations", as Rico Baldegger, the recently retired Dean of the Fribourg School of Management, explained.
After an welcome ceremony at the BCF Arena on Wednesday night, Thursday 27th was dedicated to the celebration of the MSMEs Day, (Micro-, Small- and Medium- Enterprises). The theme of the day was "Human centered Impact: Advancing the UN SDGs through MSMEs. In the morning, the official opening happened a the International Labour Organisation.
The programme included a number of sessions, including one devoted to women in business and their potential for impact. Afternoon meetings and official announcements followed at the Palais des Nations. To round off the day, young people had the opportunity to express their hopes for the future and even propose solutions on subjects close to their hearts.
Friday 28th was held at the school of management Fribourg with various parallel sessions and round tables planned to exchange on entrepreneurial ecosystems, entrepreneurial leadership, sustainability, innovation and new research and many others topics. A special City friendship ceremony was sealed with the presence of Kyoo-il Jo, Mayor of Jinju City in South Korea and Thierry Steiert, Mayor of Fribourg.
In order to celebrate the successful event with no less than 160 intervenants on this last day of conferences, everyone was invited to join the barbecue reception in the old town of Fribourg. A perfect way to finish the day with good food in a relaxed atmosphere and new friends!
