Following a successful inaugural event last year, a new Pitch Competition by YES (Young Enterprise Switzerland) was held on February 3, 2024, at the HEG Fribourg. This year, 20 mini-companies created by young people aged 16 to 20 were able to present their concepts, thanks to the collaboration between YES and the Innovation Lab.
Each year, the YES Company Program gives over a thousand Swiss high school and vocational school students the opportunity to set up their own mini-companies and thus experience real-life conditions of entrepreneurship. The program is structured as a competition: Over the course of one year, mini-companies compete in various events, including the above-mentioned Pitch Competition. The 75 best companies then continue on to the national finals in Zurich in June to compete for the "Company of the Year" award.
The program is growing and developing and the number of participating teams increases every year. With its new "Fundamentals" modules, YES now even makes it possible to participate in the Company Program without entering the competition, giving schools greater flexibility.
The morning of the YES Pitch Competition was rounded off by two guest speakers: Gerhard Andrey, National Councillor and co-founder of Liip, and Luca Ferrari, co-founder of Cavo-Pass. The two speakers encouraged young people with tips and advice and inspired them to develop their full potential!
