Louis Jacques Filion is honory professor of Entrepreneurship at HEC MONTREAL, the Montreal Business School, and guest professor at the HEG-FR. His specialty is entrepreneurship, and held the Rogers-J.A. Professor of Entrepreneurship at HEC MONTREAL, the Montreal Business School. His academic background includes a BA (Classics) from St-Laurent College (University of Montreal) (1966), a BA (Honours) in Political Science from the University of Ottawa (1968), an M.A. in International Studies from the University of Ottawa (1974), an MBA from H.E.C. Montreal (1976) and a PhD in Entrepreneurship and Systems from the University of Lancaster, Great Britain (1988). Dr. Filion’s broad professional experience in entrepreneurship and management includes the fields of human resources, operations management and marketing. He has created and managed small businesses. In 2004, he received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Canadian Council of Small Business and Entrepreneurship (CCSBE - CCPME) for his contribution to the field of entrepreneurship. In 2008, he received the prestigious Entrepreneurship Promotion Emeritus Award in recognition of his career-long commitment to promoting of an entrepreneurial culture among young people.
