Information
The "Master of Science in Business Administration, Major in Entrepreneurship (Innovation and Growth)" program is composed of 90 ECTS credits distributed as follows: General Management (GM) 18 ECTS, Research Methods (RM) 9 ECTS, Applied Research Projects (ARP) 18 ECTS, Major (MA) 30 ECTS and Master Thesis (MT) 15 ECTS. The program is designed to last four semesters. The European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) is a standard for comparing the study attainment and performance of students of higher education. One ECTS credit point corresponds to a 30-hour workload (lecture, preparation, exam, self-study, project-work, etc.).
Languages
The master studies can be completed in English/French or English/German. A trilingual combination of the modules is also feasible. A bilingual diploma will be awarded to students who complete at least 40% of the course in one of the other languages. All students must have reached a level corresponding to BEC Vantage or equivalent in English.
Location and facilities
The majority of the program is held in Fribourg. Day nursery facilities for students with children are available on the campus and are financially supported. General Management Modules and Research Methods Modules are carried out together with the Partner Schools of the HES-SO Network and take place mainly in Lausanne and partially in Fribourg.
Entry requirements
Eligibility for admission requires that candidates must:
- be holders of a bachelor/HES diploma (University of Applied Sciences) in Business Administration, Tourism, the Hotel Industry, and Hospitality and Computer Management professions
- be holders of a Bachelor degree in Political Economy, Management, Finance or Computer Management
- hold another degree or university title deemed equivalent and permitting admission to the Master, with or without conditions.
Tuition fee
The fees for the Master Program amount to CHF 850 per semester. This includes the basic fee of CHF 500, documentation and exams as well as the two week-long study trip (without travel expenses). The costs for textbooks are not included.
Exchange weeks
A two-weeks exchange program in a foreign university with a close link to the entrepreneurship theme are included in the master program. Possible destinations are the HEC Montréal and the University of Quebec in Trois-Rivières, Canada, the University of Vermont in Burlington, USA, the Tecnologico de Monterrey in Mexico, the University of Montpellier and the University of Grenoble in France and the Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China.
