CAS - BUSINESS MANAGEMENT

THE MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUES

The majority of management functions within industry, administration or the services industry require extensive business management knowledge. Globalisation, worldwide competition and technological innovation encourage companies to continually progress. There is an increasing need for them to manage the level of complexity and contradictions.

This trend is expected to increase even further. The pressure upon costs and budgets means that managers must better identify the factors that are conducive to effective management. For a number of years, our objective has been to teach our students basic knowledge and also to teach them about recent management-related developments. Therefore over the years we have developed a programme that fully meets these demands.

CAS - PROJECT MANAGEMENT

A CURRENT TOPIC

Globalisation, increased competition, the need for continual innovation and the surge of technology are unavoidable factors that require all organisations to review the way in which they operate.

Whether a company is in industry, the services industry or administration, this reconsideration often leads to an evolution from a vertical business to an increasingly horizontal business. A horizontal business is the transversal organisation of a company that is structured around the workflow and groups of completed projects. The horizontal enterprise leads to stronger project management.

Nowadays, project management is a specific discipline that is rooted at the heart of business activities. It has a direct influence upon activity and performance levels. The modern business can create a distinct competitive advantage by becoming a horizontal business.
