AN INTERDISCIPLINARY VISION

Executives and specialists in the public sector are constantly confronted with the challenges of growing complexity. This means they must update their professional skills in numerous domains, such as management, finance, communication or the political scene. Developing personal, social and managerial skills is essential for successful, long-term team management.

 

Working within a public administration also requires the ability to adapt to different partners and an interdisciplinary vision in order to understand the interactions of the various sectors.

TARGET GROUP

This programme will be of particular interest if you are an executive or specialist:

  • who is active in the public sector
  • who are ready for more responsibility and are destined for a management position
  • whose clients come mainly from public administrations or who wish to enhance activity in this sector
  • who wish to take a closer look at questions concerning management and team management in the public domain

Fees for this programme amount to CHF 7'950.-. This includes course materials, correction of various papers and presentation of the certificate.

Objectives

OBJECTIVES

The CAS Public Management contains the principal concepts of business management adapted to the public domain.  Personal and social skills are developed with a view to taking on the role of leader in the public sector.

Participants

  • know the basic principles of management applied in private and public sectors;

  • will learn how to reflect in a transversal and interdisciplinary manner, thanks to an approach which integrates the needs of society, the economy, politics and the law;

  • will understand the particularities of the public domain from the perspective of modern organisational management;

  • will deepen and at the same time understand the specificities of managing public administrations versus the private sector;

  • will utilise their skills in the communication sector as an instrument of conduct and to reinforce their leadership potential;

  • will put the acquired knowledge into practice.

Course Structure

The CAS Public Management comprises 9 modules, divided into the sections of leadership and management.


INTRODUCTION AND METHODOLOGY

Here you will approach administrative and organisational issues. You will familiarise yourself with the concept of the transfer report and the formal criteria will then be submitted for discussion. The objective is to facilitate the execution of the tasks you will be required to do during the course.


1st PART - LEADERSHIP - MODULES 1 to 3
